Apolinario Mabini Hiking Society, known as APO Hiking Society or Apo, formed in 1969 at Ateneo de Manila. The group initially consisted of thirteen members, including Jim Paredes and Boboy Garrovillo. Named after Filipino hero Apolinario Mabini, the band released their debut album Collector's Item in 1975. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, they produced notable albums like Ten Years Together, True to My Music, and Direksyon. Hits such as "Awit ng Barkada" and "Banal na Aso, Santong Kabayo" gained popularity. APO Hiking Society collaborated on projects like the Manila Metro Pop Music Fest Album in 1978. The group received several awards, including the Myx Magna Award in 2007 and the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Awit Awards.
