Anciients, a Canadian heavy metal group from Vancouver, British Columbia, formed in 2011. The band initially consisted of Kenny Cook, Mike Hannay, Aaron "Boon" Gustafon, and Chris Dyck. Their debut album, Heart of Oak, released in April 2013 under Season of Mist, was longlisted for the Polaris Music Prize that year. In spring 2013, they toured parts of the United States as an opening act for Lamb of God. Dyck departed in January 2017 and was replaced by Brock MacInnes. Their second album, Voice of the Void, released in October 2016, won the Juno Award for Heavy Metal Album of the Year in 2018.
