Renowned house music singer Anabel Englund was born in New York on September 1, 1992. At the start of her career, she gained recognition by lending her voice to numerous songs by established artists and in 2012, made her debut with the electro track "In Time," a collaboration with PeaceTreaty, released under Steve Aoki's Dim Mak Records, catching the attention of deep house sensations MK and Lee Foss, who invited her to contribute vocals to their new track "Electricity." Englund's distinctive vocal tone, characterized by a touch of huskiness led to a devoted following, seeing the singer attain international chart recognition with the 2013 collaboration "Reverse Skydiving" with Hot Natured. Building on this success, Englund joined forces with Foss and MK to form the supergroup Pleasure State, releasing a four-track EP titled Ghost in the System a year later. Finally, in November 2016, Englund made her long-awaited solo debut with the single "London Headache," which marked a transition into the indie dance genre, with production assistance from Englund's brother, Jackson and Diego Cuevas from the band Mont Blvck. Continuing her musical journey, Englund made notable appearances on tracks such as Amtrac's "Old Times" and CID's "Use Me Up." In 2019, Englund resurfaced with a series of new solo materials, leading up to the release of her debut album, Messing with Magic, in 2020, showcasing collaborations with prominent artists such as Jamie Jones, co-founder of Hot Creations, and Juno Award-winning artist Nick Henriques with 2020 single "So Hot" climbing to the number one position on U.S. dance radio, maintaining its dominance for eight consecutive weeks. This success was followed by another chart-topping hit in October 2020, as her single "Picture Us" reached number one on both U.S. dance radio and Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. Continuing this remarkable streak in 2021, Englund celebrated her third song to reach the top spot on U.S. dance radio with single "Underwater" simultaneously becoming her second number one on Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. In May that year, Englund unveiled a deluxe version of Messing with Magic featuring her fourth number one hit on U.S. dance radio, "Waiting for You". Non-album single “Midnight Rapture” (2021) was released soon after, winning her the Best Going Deep Video award at the Clubbing TV Awards and in 2022, the singer returned to the top of the charts with “Need Me Right.” In 2023, Englund released “Strangely Sentimental,” earning her Dance Artist of the Year at the iHeartRadioMusic Awards.
