Amber Lawrence

Amber Lawrence (born April 19, 1978 in Sydney, Australia), is an Australian singer-songwriter. Her first foray into performing was busking in Tamworth, New South Wales, before attending the College of Country Music, releasing her debut EP I’ve Got the Blues in January 2006 and her first full-length studio album, The Mile in July 2007, peaking at number 13 on the Country Albums chart and nominated for Independent Country Album of the Year. Her second album When it All Comes Down, recorded in honour of her father who had recently passed away, was released in August 2009, achieving similar chart success and leading the Female Vocalist of the Year award at the Victorian National Country Music Awards. In January 2012, the singer-songwriter’s third album 3 was released by Sony Music, followed by Superheroes in September 2014 on EMI, debuting at number 4 and 3 respectively on the Country Albums chart. The intensely personal Superheroes led to Lawrence receiving the Golden Guitar trophy for Best Female Artist of the Year at the CMAA awards. In 2016, Lawrence recorded one of three children’s albums, The Kid’s Gone Country, followed immediately by country pop release Happy Ever After, and a collaboration with country singer Travis Collins, Our Backyard, in August 2017, earning three CMAA awards, Vocal Collaboration of the Year, Song of the Year and Single of the Year for the single “Our Backyard”. Lawrence’s highest charting album Spark was released in June 2019, peaking at number 13 on the ARIA albums chart and number 1 on the Country Albums chart. Performing extensively throughout the country for a range of audiences, Lawrence also tours her children’s albums, including 2017’s Aussie Aussie Christmas and 2020’s The Kid’s Gone Country II, mentoring young performers in over 300 schools throughout Australia. She regularly hosts on Getaway (television program) Saturday Night Country (radio show) and iHeartRadio Australia Country (radio program).
