Originally the solo project of London-based Australian Elizabeth Morris (vocals, ukulele), Allo Darlin' became a band completed by Paul Rains (electric and lap-steel guitars), Bill Botting (bass) and Mikey Collins (drums). After a first self-produced single entitled "Henry Rollins Can't Dance" (2008), the track was released on the WeePop! label, before being signed to Fortuna POP! This was followed by "The Polaroid Song" (2009) and "Dreaming " (2010), before the release of debut album Allo Darlin' in 2010. Released in the U.S. on Slumberland Records, their second album Europe was released in 2012, before a year of touring and a return to the studio for the follow-up We Come from the Safe Place (2014). The twee pop and jangle pop outfit broke up in 2016. In 2023, Allo Darlin' made a comeback for a series of concerts in England and returned to the studio to record the album Bright Nights (2025), featuring the singles "Tricky Questions", "My Love Will Bring You Home" and "Cologne".
