Alien Sex Fiend

Alien Sex Fiend, formed in London by Nik Wade (Nik Fiend) and Christine Wade (Mrs Fiend) in 1982, emerged from the early 1980s goth scene as a duo that blended theatrical horror imagery with rock. Their breakthrough came with the 1983 single "Ignore the Machine", which reached Number Six on the UK Independent Chart, followed by a series of singles and the debut EP The Lewd, the Mad, the Ugly and Old Nick that gained attention from The Batcave compilation. The same year, they released their first studio album, Who's Been Sleeping In My Brain, and signed to Anagram Records, a Cherry Red subsidiary. In 1984, E.S.T. (Trip to the Moon) appeared as an 11" single, and the band recorded two Peel Sessions, solidifying their reputation. The 1985 album Maximum Security entered the UK Albums Chart at Number One Hundred, while the live release Liquid Head in Tokyo expanded their audience in Japan. Subsequent albums-Acid Bath (1984), Curse (1990), Open Head Surgery (1992), and Inferno (1994)-were accompanied by tours, including support for Alice Cooper in 1986. Alien Sex Fiend continued to release material into the 2000s, with Death Trip (2010) and Possessed (2018).
