Akishibu Project

Akishibu Project is a Japanese idol girl group formed in late 2012 by a former BiS member, aiming to merge the cultures of Shibuya and Akihabara. The group debuted with thirteen members on 24 May 2013 and began its full-scale operation in March 2014. Early releases included the EPs 乱れ髪ファイティングガール (2015) and NEW WORLD (2016), and the single "Summer☆Summer / セツナツリ" (2016), which peaked at ninth place on the Weekly Oricon Singles Chart. In 2018, after a nationwide audition that selected four new members from over 1,200 applicants, Akishibu Project announced its major debut with the single "Hola! Hola! Summer" (2018). Subsequent singles "The First Summer" (2019) and "常夏トロピケーション" (2021) continued to chart within the J-pop scene. The group released the album AKISHIBU the BEST (2019), compiling its most popular tracks. Akishibu Project performed regularly at TwinBoxAkihabara and toured internationally, including a 2016 appearance at Japan Expo in Thailand.
