Adam Green

One half of the cult band The Moldy Peaches, Adam Green has also made a name for himself as a solo artist, with a rock style that has pop overtones and albums that are not devoid of humor. Born in Mount Kisco, New York, on May 28, 1981, he met Kimya Dawson at university, with whom he formed the duo The Moldy Peaches in 1994, best known for their track "Anyone Else But You", included on the soundtrack of the cult independent film Juno (2008). However, as early as 2002, Adam Green began his solo career with a homonymous debut album released by the Rough Trade label. In fact, after a 2001 album featuring "Anyone Else But You", the band was put on hold to allow the two protagonists' respective desires to blossom. Green continued his quest for sixties-style pop on Friends of Mine (2003), featuring the acclaimed "Jessica", followed by Gemstones (2005), Jacket Full of Danger (2006) and Sixes & Sevens (2008), before the success of the aforementioned film led to a reunion of The Moldy Peaches for a series of promotional concerts. Returning to solo work in 2010 with Minor Love, the songwriter turned to composing for the stage with Musik for a Play (2010) and the big screen with Aladdin (2016), a surrealist film he directed himself. Meanwhile, he collaborated with Binki Shapiro in 2013. Two more personal albums followed, Engine of Paradise (2019), which is accompanied by a graphic novel, and That Fucking Feeling (2022).
