Active Child

Patrick James Grossi is an American singer, songwriter, and producer known professionally as Active Child. Born on May 28, 1983, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he began singing at age nine with the Philadelphia Boys Choir, an experience that heavily influenced his use of falsetto. Grossi debuted as Active Child in 2010 with the cassette release Sun Rooms, followed by the Curtis Lane EP. In August 2011, he released his debut studio album, You Are All I See, produced by Ariel Rechtshaid. The record featured the singles “Hanging On” and “Johnny Belinda”. In 2012, Ellie Goulding covered “Hanging On” for her album Halcyon. Grossi followed this with the EP Rapor in 2013 and his second studio album, Mercy, in 2015. After a period of focus on his family, he released the album In Another Life in April 2020. The track “Painted Staircase” from this album was featured in the trailer for the television series Defending Jacob. Grossi has performed at festivals such as Latitude, Montreux Jazz Festival, and Coachella.
