A1 was a British-Norwegian pop group formed in 1998, consisting of Ben Adams, Paul Marazzi, Christian Ingebrigtsen, and Mark Read. The band's debut single "Be the First to Believe" entered the UK singles chart at number 6 in mid-1999. A1 signed with Columbia Records in February 1999 and released their first album Here We Come in November of the same year, which reached number 4 in Norway and featured four top ten singles in the UK. In 2000, they achieved two Number 1 hits with "Take On Me" and "Same Old Brand New You". The band began a massive arena tour of Asia in 2001, where they were very well received. However, on October 8, 2002, Marazzi left the group citing personal reasons, leading to A1's subsequent split. In December 2009, Ingebrigtsen, Read, and Adams reformed A1 without Marazzi for a series of concerts at the Christiania Theatre in Oslo. Since their comeback, they have released new singles as well as their fourth and fifth studio albums Waiting for Daylight in 2010, and Rediscovered in 2012.
