200 Sachen was formed in 2003 in Wiesbaden, Germany, by drummer Uzi Mayer, bassist Lefty Luv, and guitarist Tob Le Rone, all of whom had previously played together in I Saw Elvis; the lineup was rounded out by guitarist Fabi Feuer and vocalist Katta Strophe. The groupâs first release, the selfâtitled EP 200 Sachen (2004), was issued through Oh My Sweet Records and received mixed critical reception, but it established the bandâs presence in the German popârock scene. In 2005, 200 Sachen signed with Sony BMG and released the single "Ganz neu", followed by the chartâeligible single "Sekt zum Frühstück" in 2006, which entered the German charts after the band represented RhinelandâPalatinate at the Bundesvision Song Contest on 9 February 2006, finishing twelfth. The same month, the fullâlength album Reich und Schön was released under Sony BMG, reaching positions within the German album charts and earning reviews that described the music as the most energetic pop Germany had offered. The group toured extensively across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, including a performance at the Rocco del Schlacko festival, before disbanding in the summer of 2006; since then, former members have pursued individual projects, with Katta Strophe founding Katjas Bazar and Tob Le Rone contributing to other bands and solo ventures.
