ZSK is a German punk rock band that was formed in Göttingen in 1997. The group plays skate punk, political punk and melodic hardcore. The band is formed around singer and guitarist Joshi, bassist Eike, drummer Matthias and guitarist Arne, who joins the line-up in 2022. ZSK is considered one of the best-known political punk bands in Germany. Their lyrics denounce racism, right-wing extremism and social injustice. After disbanding in 2007, the band resumed their work in 2011. The debut album Riot Radio was released in 2002, followed two years later by From Protest To Resistance, which also brought the band attention outside Germany. With Discontent Hearts And Gasoline from 2006, ZSK initially took their leave of the stage. They made a comeback in 2013 with Herz für die Sache, which reached number 29 in the German album charts. Hallo Hoffnung followed in 2018 and entered at number 16. Three years later, Ende der Welt reached number 3 in the charts. The album Hass/Liebe, released in 2023, reaches number 4. The new studio album Feuer & Papier is released at the end of September 2025. Well-known songs such as "Wir kommen in Deine Stadt", "Sommer ohne Nazis", "Nicht allein" and "So viel Gutes" demonstrate the combination of catchy melodies and a clear political stance. ZSK are also involved in anti-fascist initiatives and use their music as a platform for social issues.
