Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano, the iconic Brazilian sertanejo duo from Pirenópolis, Goiás, rose to prominence in 1991 with their debut album featuring the timeless hit "É o Amor," a song that became a cultural phenomenon and propelled them to national fame. Throughout the 1990s, they released a series of successful albums, including the 1994 release that featured a collaboration with Willie Nelson on "Eu Só Penso Em Você," a Portuguese rendition of "Always on My Mind." Their 1995 album achieved remarkable success, selling over 2 million copies, and by 2000, they had sold over 16 million albums, solidifying their status as one of Brazil's best-selling sertanejo acts. In 2005, their life story was depicted in the critically acclaimed film 2 Filhos de Francisco, which became one of the most successful Brazilian films in 25 years. Continuing their musical journey, they released the album Double Face in 2010, which won them their third Latin Grammy Award. In 2015, they addressed social issues with the song "O Defensor," highlighting the problem of violence against women. Their 2019 live album A História Continua (Ao Vivo) featured renditions of their classic hits, reaffirming their enduring appeal. In recent years, while continuing to perform together, both artists have pursued individual projects: Zezé Di Camargo collaborated with his daughter Wanessa on the 2021 album Pai & Filha, and Luciano Camargo has focused on gospel music since 2020.
