Zehava Ben

Zehava Ben is an Israeli singer born as Zehava Benisti on 8 November 1968 in Beersheba. Born into a Moroccan Jewish family, she began her musical career in 1988 and achieved a professional breakthrough with her debut album and title track “Tipat Mazal” (1989), which became a major hit in Israel. Ben is a prominent vocalist in the Mizrahi genre and performs in both Hebrew and Moroccan Arabic. Her early discography includes the studio albums Eize Min Olam (1990), Enta Omri (1991), and Geshem Bokhe (1992). In 1996, she recorded the track “Shir LaShalom” (1996) for a political campaign. She participated in the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 with the song “Peace and Love” (2005), finishing in second place. Ben achieved wider public recognition after winning the eleventh season of the reality series Big Brother (2021). In 2025, she was selected to light a torch at Israel's 77th Independence Day ceremony.
