Yvette Young, born June 28, 1991 in San Jose, California, is an American musician, composer, and guitarist. Coming from a musical family, she began playing piano at age four and violin at seven. Young started her career by posting videos of herself playing music in 2009. In 2014, she released her first EP Acoustics EP. She followed this with Acoustics EP 2 in June 2017 and Piano EP in 2019. Young is also known for her work as the front-woman of the math rock band Covet, releasing albums such as Effloresce (2018), Technicolor (2020), and Catharsis (2023). In 2023, Rolling Stone named Young the 155th greatest guitarist of all time. She contributed to the soundtrack for the James Gunn-directed Superman film in July 2025.
