YeLLOW Generation is a Japanese female vocal trio formed around poetry recitation.The members are Yuki (born February 9, 1982, in Hokkaido), Yuko (born November 20, 1981, in Saitama Prefecture), and Hitomi (born July 10, 1985, in Kanagawa Prefecture).They made their major-label debut in June 2002 with the single "LOST Generation." On August 21 of the same year, they released their second single , "The North Wind and the Sun." Used as the theme song for a TV drama, this single became a massive hit, selling over 150,000 copies and peaking at No. 5 on the Oricon charts.With strong album sales momentum, they actively promoted their first album , *CARPE DIEM*, at the end of that year. The album peaked at No. 11 and served as a stepping stone to winning the New Artist Award at the Japan Gold Disc Awards the following year.Subsequently, singles such as "Beyond the Door," which served as an anime theme song, became smash hits, and in 2005, they released their second album , *life-sized portrait *.The group disbanded the following year, in 2006. Four years after their disbandment, in December 2010, they released their first greatest hits album, *GOLDENâBEST YeLLOW Generation *. The album features seven tracks, including their final single âDual,â as well as all of their singles, B-sides, and album tracks.On December 19, prior to the release, the three members took the stage for a live performance, performing YeLLOW Generation songs for the first time in a long while.
