Yapi, born in Madrid in 2004 to Cameroonian parents, is a trilingual Spanish urban artist whose dynamic blend of trap, drill, R&B, and Afro-influenced rhythms has rapidly propelled him to prominence. His musical journey began with freestyle sessions shared on social media, but it was the viral success of "Dónde te escondes?" on social media in early 2025 that marked his breakthrough, captivating audiences with its fusion of rap, melodic reggaeton, and emotive lyricism. His next single, "Pepesoup," a collaboration with Cyril Kamer, showcased his versatility and cross-cultural appeal. Building on this momentum, he released "Báilame Gyal" in March 2025, further cementing his status in the Spanish urban music scene. The single reached number 82 on the Spanish charts.
