Yama, born in Japan, is a Japanese singer known for their work in J-pop and pop music. Yama began making Vocaloid covers at home during junior high school, which marked the start of their musical journey. In March 2018, they made their singing debut with a YouTube cover of Picon's "Atatakai Ikimono" under the name "Yama." This initial exposure led to Yama forming the rock trio BIN as the vocalist in 2019. In April 2020, Yama released their first original song, "Haru Wo Tsugeru," which peaked at number 7 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 and number 8 on the Oricon Combined Singles Chart. This success was followed by the release of their debut album the meaning of life in September 2021. Yama's music has been featured in various anime, including "Mahi" as the opening theme for 2.43: Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Team, and "Oz." as the ending theme for Ranking of Kings. In November 2022, their song "Shikisai" was used as the ending theme for the second half of Spy × Family's first season. Yama's subsequent albums include Versus the night (August 31, 2022), awake&build (January 24, 2024), and ; semicolon (March 5, 2025). From November 28 to December 5, 2023, Yama held a solo concert tour throughout Southeast Asia and Taiwan.
