Xu Liang

Xu Liang (born February 8, 1987) is a Chinese singer who gained popularity in 2010 by sharing his original songs online. Initially trained in art and design, he worked as a video editor before quitting his job to pursue music with his family's support. In 2010, his self-composed song "胸前 (On My Chest)" went viral. His songs, characterized by a mix of electronic music, Chinese influences, and R&B, resonated with younger audiences, especially students. In 2011, his song "犯贱 (Despicable)" gained widespread popularity, leading to his first album 不良少年 (Bad Boy), released under MeiMiao Music. Following a dispute with his label in 2014, he co-founded Elephant Music with fellow artist Wang Sulong and released his third album 我 (Me). Xu Liang's later works include the album 东西世界 (East and West World), inspired by his travels across ten countries. In 2019, he shifted focus to behind-the-scenes work, founding the music company "Yi Cun Guang Nian." In 2023, he appeared on 披荆斩棘 (The Voice of China) season 3 but was eliminated after the second round.
