X5 Generation is an international bachata group created in the mid-2020s by Dominican producer Julio César GarcÃa, the architect behind Aventura and Romeo Santos, as a new tropical bachata concept aimed at young audiences. The project brought together five singers from different countries â Jhonan X and Leiner X from the Dominican Republic, MarÃa X and Daniel X from Colombia, and Cristina X from Venezuela â who began working under the Kenny & Cesart Music imprint. X5 Generation made its official debut in 2024 with the single "Virus", a contemporary bachata track produced between the Dominican Republic and New York and supported by a narrative video that introduced the groupâs storyline around digital-age relationships. The song positioned them as a fresh act within modern bachata and led to coverage from Latin American media outlets. In early 2025 they followed with "OlvÃdame", released as a standalone single with Cristina X on lead vocals and promoted heavily across social networks and performance clips, reaching number 24 on the Billboard US Tropical Airplay chart. Later that year they expanded their catalog with the singles "Vuelve a ser tu" and "De cero a cien", consolidating X5 Generationâs image as a mixed-nationality vocal group blending romantic bachata with a polished pop presentation.
