Formed in 2007, Wormrot is a grindcore band from Singapore. Originally made up of Arif Suhaimi (vocals), Rasyid Juraimi (guitar) and Fitri (drums), the founding members began playing after completing their national service, and recorded a self-produced debut album entitled Abuse (2009). Noticed by Earache Records thanks to the title track "Born Stupid", they signed in early 2010 and toured Europe and the USA to gain international exposure for the re-released debut. Wormrot then recorded the album Dirge (2011), followed in 2016 by the critically acclaimed Voices. In 2017, between two tours, Wormrot headlined the Glastonbury festival. After a break of several years, the band returned to the studio for the album Hiss (2022), once again hailed by the international press for its openness to new sounds, without losing any of the energy for which the Asian band is renowned. A sequence of temporary replacements for Suhaimi and Fitri and the release of the Left to Rot compilation followed until 2024, before a return to the stage and the release of the live album TNT (2025).
