W&JAS

W & JAS is a Korean electronic music group initially formed in 2001 as W (Where the Story Ends) led by Bae Young‑Jun. The group released its first studio album Where the Story Ends in 2005, establishing a fan base among long‑time fans of the pre‑group Kona. In 2006, the band received Group of the Year and Best Pop Album awards at the 3rd Korean Popular Music Awards, and the track "Shocking Pink Rose" became the theme song for the television drama My Name is Kim Sam Soon. The same year the group recruited new vocalist Whale, prompting a name change to W & Whale and the launch of the single "RPG Shine" as a commercial song for SK Broadband, which broadened their national exposure. In 2008, W & Whale released the album Hardboiled, followed by the 2009 release Random Tasks. After Whale departed in 2012, the group added JAS as a new vocalist and re‑branded as W & JAS, issuing the album New Kid In Town in 2013 and subsequent releases But We Have To Go and We Can’t Dance But! in 2015, while contributing to various soundtracks, including the television drama Cheo-Yong. Their top hit song "RPG Shine" entered Korea's Top 200 Shazam chart at rank 141 in March 2026.
