Willy Rivera

Guillermo Zapata Huertos, born on October 24,  1964, in Callao, Peru, is a Peruvian singer known professionally as Willy Rivera. He was raised in La Perla and initially worked as a graphic designer before pursuing music in 1987 with local groups Chaney and La Selecta, eventually joining the salsa orchestra La Sensual 990 where he adopted the stage name Willy Rivera. He debuted as a soloist with the album El cariño es… in 1991, featuring the hit "El cariño es como una flor"; subsequent releases included Dame una oportunidad (1992), El día que me quieras (1995), Para ti (1998), 10 años de éxitos (2001), Gracias al amor (2013), Cerrito de colores (2016), and ¡Canto a mi gente! Lo mejor (2021). In 2024, he was featured alongside Antonio Cartagena and Alex Ramirez on the albums Salsa Chocolatera: Primer Tiempo and Salsa Chocolatera: Segundo Tiempo.
