Amanda Lee Williford, known professionally as Willa Ford, was born on January 22, 1981, in Ruskin, Florida. She began her musical journey at a young age, singing with the Tampa Bay Children's Choir and later joining the Tampa-based children's performing arts troupe, Entertainment Revue. In 1999, at the age of 18, Willa Ford started performing under the stage name Mandah and was signed to MCA Records. After being dropped from MCA, she signed with Atlantic Records, which included her song "Lullaby" on the soundtrack for Pokémon: The First Movie. She changed her stage name to Willa Ford to avoid confusion with Mandy Moore. Willa Ford's debut album, Willa Was Here, was released on July 17, 2001. It featured the single "I Wanna Be Bad", which included rapper Royce da 5'9". The album reached number 56 on the Billboard 200 and sold approximately 200,000 copies. Willa Ford's second single from the album, "Did Ya' Understand That", was released on September 11, 2001, but did not garner much attention due to the events of that day. In 2003, Willa Ford released the song "A Toast to Men" featuring guest rapper Lady May. This single was from her unreleased second album Sexysexobsessive, previously titled Porn Poetry. After a long hiatus from releasing music, she returned in 2025 with new singles such as âBurn Burnâ and âLove4Lifeâ, before the release of her second album Amanda on March 6, 2026.
