Web Web

A German-based jazz group, Web Web formed in 2017 around pianist and producer Roberto Di Gioia, accompanied by Tony Lakatos (saxophone), Christian von Kaphengst (double bass) and Peter Gall (drums). Influenced by the spiritual jazz of Pharoah Sanders and Sun Ra, as well as ethio-jazz, hard bop, modal jazz and African rhythms, the band released the albums Oracle (2017), Dance of the Demons (2018) and Worshippers (2020) for the Compost label, before teaming up with rapper and producer Max Herre for the diptych Web Max (2021) and Web Max II (2023). In tune with the burgeoning London scene, Web Web further expands its palette with Plexus Plexus (2025).
