We Were Promised Jetpacks

We Were Promised Jetpacks are a Scottish indie rock band formed in 2003 in Edinburgh, Scotland. The original lineup included Adam Thompson (vocals, guitar), Michael Palmer (guitar), Sean Smith (bass), and Darren Lackie (drums). Their first significant gig was winning a school's Battle of the Bands competition. In September 2008, they supported Frightened Rabbit on tour for The Midnight Organ Fight, leading to their signing with Fat Cat Records. Their debut album, These Four Walls, released in 2009, reached number 27 on the US Billboard Heatseekers chart. The band's second album, In the Pit of the Stomach, was released in 2011 and received critical acclaim. In 2018, they released The More I Sleep the Less I Dream.
