We Be the Echo is an American instrumental rock band from San Francisco, formed in 2003. The group emerged from the remnants of the Bay Area experimental band Bm Relocation Program and released their debut EP Cubist Music in 2004. Their unique blend of math rock, brutal prog, punk, jazz, and heavy metal, and their sound, which was also characterized by melodic and rhythmically challenging short songs that often incorporate shred guitar and dub-influenced bass lines, quickly garnered attention. In 2006, they released their first full-length album, Stanislaw Stories, followed by the EP All-Star Destroyers in 2007 and the album Masks in 2009. Throughout their career, members of We Be the Echo have also been involved with various other bands and projects, including Voorhees, Break It Up, and The John Francis.
