French R&B, urban pop and rap singer Vitaa was born Charlotte Gonin in Mulhouse on March 14, 1983, but it was in Lyon that she grew up and developed a taste for music. In 2002, she made her debut with a duet with Dadoo on the track "Pas à pas", before going on to launch her own career, marked by successes and collaborations with Diam's, Pit Baccardi, Rohff, Kéry James and Gage. Her debut album, À Fleur de Toi, hit number one and became the best-selling album by a female artist in 2007. Her successor Celle Que Je Vois (2010) features production by Skalp, Blastar and Astroboys, while the duet "Game Over" with Maître Gims is her first number-one hit. The following album, Ici et Maintenant, features another duet, with Amel Bent. After a second maternity and her version of Robin Thicke's "Feel Good", Vitaa returned in 2015 with the album La Même, the first for Maître Gims' Monstre Marin label. In 2017, she released the album J4M, marked by her collaboration with Stromae, Jul, but also Claudio Capéo, before joining the jury of the telecrochet The Voice Belgique, but also in 2018 of the show Destination Eurovision. The following year saw the start of a successful collaboration with Slimane on the album Versus, featuring contributions from Maître Gims, Camélia Jordana, Amel Bent and Kendji Girac. The partnership continued in 2020 with the release of a second instalment, Versus - Chapitre II, featuring Dadju, followed by Versus : L'Ultime Chapitre. In 2021, the singer teamed up with Amel Bent and Camélia Jordana for the album Sorøre, which reached number 13 in France and Belgium. Two years later, Vitaa offered her fans a sixth album, Charlotte, named after her first name, which reached No. 1 in the French charts and included songs written by Dadju, Slimane, John Mamann and Abou Debeing. Her reissue in 2025 adds two duets, with Alonzo on "Loro Piana " and with Julien Doré on "Viens on essaie".
