Vistas

An alternative rock band from Edinburgh, Scotland, Vistas was formed in 2016 by school classmates Prentice Robertson (vocals), Dylan Rush (guitar), and Jamie Law (bass). The group spent two years woodshedding an anthemic mix of indie rock and alt-rock influences, then debuted in 2018 with the non-album singles "Calm" and "Retrospect." An EP, Hello, followed shortly thereafter, released in 2019 by the Manchester-based indie label LAB Records. It was the May 2020 arrival of the band's full-length debut, however, that transformed Vistas from an underground act into a mainstream-minded Top 40 success. Titled Everything Changes in the End, the record debuted at Number 2 in Scotland, with only Lady Gaga's Chromatica selling more copies. The album was a success in the UK, as well, where it peaked at Number 21 on the UK Albums Chart, received warm reviews from the British press, and produced the singles "Teenage Blues" and "Sucker." Following the release of standalone singles like "Stranger" and "Comfort," a second album, What Were You Hoping to Find?, followed in August 2021. Once again, Vistas found success both at home and in the UK, with What Were You Hoping to Find? climbing to Number 3 on the Scottish Albums Chart and Number 39 on the UK equivalent.
