Vincent Peirani

Accordionist, clarinettist, arranger and composer Vincent Peirani has distinguished himself on the contemporary jazz scene through his eclectic collaborations and recordings. Born in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), France, on April 24, 1980, he learned to play the accordion at the age of twelve and followed classical music studies at the Nice Conservatoire, where he also took up the clarinet. Winner of several competitions in Germany, Switzerland and Italy, including a world trophy in Cassino, Vincent Peirani performed at festivals and graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris with a first prize in 1996. Settling in Paris, he rubbed shoulders with numerous musicians and future partners on the French jazz scene, as he continued his studies in the jazz department of the CNSMD de Paris with Daniel Humair as his teacher. From chanson to classical music, jazz and world music, the accordionist tackles every genre in a career punctuated by recordings. Signed to the Zig-Zag Territoires label, he collaborated with François Salque on his first album, Gunung Sebatu (2010). Awarded the Prix Django-Reinhardt and a Victoire du jazz for his debut album on the ACT label, Thrill Box (2013), he teamed up with saxophonist Émile Parisien for Belle Époque (2014) and within the jazz fusion group Living Being, which also includes Tony Paeleman on keyboards, Julien Herné on electric bass and drummer Yoann Serra. After a homonymous album released in 2015, the quintet reunites three years later on Night Walker (2018). Between sessions with Louis Sclavis, Roberto Alagna, Daniel Humair, Youn Sun Nah, Stromae, Cécile McLorin Salvant or Stefano Bollani, Vincent Peirani devotes himself to duets, with pianist Michael Wollny on Tandem (2016), singer Serena Fisseau for So Quiet (2019), Émile Parisien for Abrazo (2020), awarded a Prix Coup de Coeur by the Académie Charles-Cros. His next album, Jokers(2022), sees him surrounded by guitarist Federico Casagrande and drummer Ziv Ravitz.
