Vildhjarta

Vildhjarta is a Swedish progressive metal band founded in 2005 in Hudiksvall, known for its distinctive style blending djent, dark ambiences, cinematic textures and crushing polyrhythms. The band is often credited with popularizing the term "thall", a word coined by the members themselves to describe their massive, dense and dissonant sound. The band's original line-up included Daniel Bergström (guitar), singers Daniel Ädel and Jimmie Åkerström, drummer David Lindkvist, bassist Johan Nyberg and second guitarist Jakob Karlsson. After their first self-produced demo, Omnislash (2009), Vildhjarta signed to Century Media Records and released their debut album, Måsstaden (2011), a dense, atmospheric concept album followed by the Thousands of Evils EP (2013), then a long period of silence. Returning in 2021 with the double album Måsstaden Under Vatten, taking up the themes of the first album in an enriched way, Vildhjarta then included Buster Odeholm (drums, production), also a member of Humanity's Last Breath, guitarist Calle-Magnus Thomér, bassist Viktor Lundberg and singer Vilhelm Bladin, now the band's main voice. In 2025, the third album + Där Skogen Sjunger Under Evighetens Granar + is released.
