Vernon Gosdin, born on 5 August 1934 in Woodland, Alabama, was an American country music singer. He started his career singing gospel and performing with his brothers on Birmingham radio station WVOK. In the early 1960s, he moved to California and joined the West Coast country music movement, forming the Gosdin Brothers with his brother Rex Gosdin. They achieved chart success with songs like "Hangin' On" and "Till the End". After a brief retirement in the 1970s, he signed with Elektra Records and released hits such as "Yesterday's Gone". In the 1980s, he had significant success with number-one hits like "I Can Tell by the Way You Dance (You're Gonna Love Me Tonight)" and "Set 'Em Up Joe". His album Alone, released in 1989, included his final number one hit, "I'm Still Crazy". He continued writing and singing until his death on 28 April 2009.
