Vanessa and the O's

Vanessa and the O's, a pop rock group from France, was formed in 2003/2004 when Vanessa Contenay-Quinones collaborated with Swedish musicians Andreas Mattsson and Niclas Frisk. The band later included James Iha of The Smashing Pumpkins. Their debut album, La Ballade D'o, recorded over 18 months, was self-financed and initially licensed to Virgin/EMI Sweden in May 2005. It received critical acclaim from French music writers at Le Figaro and Rock & Folk. In September 2007, the album was released on their own Rushmore Recordings label and became available physically in several countries as well as digitally distributed. Vanessa Contenay-Quinones also contributed vocals to Scott Walker's The Drift (2006). The band participated in the tribute album We All Love Ennio Morricone (2007), featuring their rendition of "Je Changerais d'Avis". In 2013, they released Stories For Watering Skies, which received positive reviews from Rock & Folk and Magic.
