UNLIMITS

UNLIMITS, a Japanese rock group formed in Tokyo in 2002, was founded by vocalist and guitarist Shimizu Yōko and guitarist Ootsuki Yoshitaka. The ensemble, which expanded in 2006 with bassist Ishijima Naokazu and drummer Gunjima Yōko, released its first mini‑album Nanairo no Kioku in 2003, marking the band’s initial foray into the Japanese music scene. In 2011 the group released the studio album トランキライザー, followed by the EP ハルカカナタ later that year, which featured the track "Haruka Kanata" that served as the ending theme for the anime Bleach. The following year the band issued the EP カスケード, with its title track used as the ending theme for Naruto, and on 29 August 2012 the full‑length album NeON was launched. After a period of independent releases, UNLIMITS signed with Jun Gray Records, a subsidiary of PIZZA OF DEATH RECORDS, and issued the album Amethyst on 16 April 2014. The group continued to tour extensively across Japan, performing at venues such as Shibuya O-West, and maintained a presence on the indie charts through 2016 with the album U. Throughout its career UNLIMITS achieved recognition for its contributions to anime soundtracks and sustained a dedicated fan base within the J‑rock community.
