Marc A. Trauffer, born on June 4, 1979 in Brienz in the canton of Bern, is a Swiss dialect pop singer, musician and entrepreneur. He is known as the "Alpentainer" and is known for his mixture of traditional Swiss folk music and modern pop-rock. His career began with the band Airbäg, which he founded in 1995. Between 1998 and 2005, the band released four albums, which were successful in the Swiss charts. After Airbäg disbanded in 2006, Trauffer launched his solo career. His debut album Pallanza is released in 2008 and is named after the Italian town of Pallanza on Lake Maggiore, where he had retreated during a personal crisis. This was followed by further albums such as Dr Heimat z'lieb (2010), Fischer & Jäger (2013), Alpentainer (2014), Heiterefahne (2016), Schnupf, Schnaps + Edelwyss (2018) and Büetzer Buebe (2019), which he recorded together with the musician Gölä. These albums reached number 1 in the Swiss charts several times and received gold and platinum awards. In addition to his music career, Trauffer runs the family business Trauffer Holzspielwaren, known for its traditional wooden toys, in particular the famous wooden cow figures. He is also involved in politics and served on the municipal council of his home municipality of Hofstetten bei Brienz from 2008 to 2014. In 2014, he opened the Trauffer Erlebniswelt, a leisure park that brings the history of wooden toys and the production of wooden cow figures to life. His album Glöggelä is released in 2022. Like the albums before it, the album storms to the top of the Swiss charts. In November 2025, Trauffer plans a big "Heubode Party" at the Hallenstadion Zurich to present his number 1 album Heubode.
