Touché

Touché, a German boyband formed in 1996, consisted of Alexander Geist, Martin Scholz, Glenn Frey, Karim Maataoui, and Dennis Frey. Produced by Dieter Bohlen, the group gained significant popularity with their debut album Part One, released on November 10, 1997. Their breakthrough came with the single "Command Me / Calling my Name" in February 2006, which showcased their electronic pop sound. Touché's success continued with their second album, Kids In America, released on November 1, 1998. The band achieved notable chart success with collaborations such as "Let the music heal your soul", a joint effort with Backstreet Boys and NSYNC, which reached number 6 in Germany and number 60 in the USA. Touché was named VIVA Act of the Year in 1997 and Popcorn's favorite pop group in 1998. The band also participated in charitable projects like "Stars for Free" and "Beautiful day", contributing to the Nothilfefonds des Kinderhilfswerkes e.V. In 1999, Karim Maataoui left the group, marking a significant change in their lineup. Touché returned in September 2002 with a new sound and members, including Donny Weiß and Chris Reuter, but struggled to replicate their earlier success. The band disbanded in 2004 after releasing singles like "Can’t hurry love" and "Hey You". Touché made a comeback in 2015 with the single "Miracle", featuring original members Martin Scholz and Alexander Geist alongside new additions Pravit Anantapongse and Markus Klopfer. Throughout their career, Touché sold over 5.4 million records worldwide.
