TopGunn

Topgunn is the stage name of Danish rapper Oliver Gammelgaard Nielsen. Raised in the multi-cultural Nørrebro district of Copenhagen, Nielsen became involved in the local Jamaican-style dancehall scene, releasing his first EP 'Dansehallens Erobrer' in 2010 under the name 'Shaq Boosie'. That year Nielsen collaborated with the dancehall-influenced rap artist Klumben on his hit single 'Kriminel'. He also became part of the dancehall collectives Fuma Hi-fi and Firehouse, releasing the tracks 'Ingen Kokain' and 'Xfactor'. In 2011, Nielsen founded CHEFF records, a label for Danish hip-hop artists including Kidd, Klumben and ELOQ. An early success for the label was Kidd's album 'Greatest Hits 2011' with several tracks featuring Topgunn. In 2013, Topgunn released his own debut album '21', peaking at number six in the Danish charts and featuring the single 'Tilbud'. Nielsen became a judge on the Danish TV 2 programme 'Denmark Has Talent' before getting his own reality television show 'F***ing Fornuftig' in 2015. The program followed the rapper in his day-to-day life as he prepared for a series of festival performances and the release of a new album, 'Ingen Andre' (2015). Over the next few years he released several standalone singles, including 'Længe Siden', 'Hyggesang' and 'Million'. In 2019, he released his third studio album '1991' (his birth year) featuring the lead single and opening track 'Detaljen'. The album peaked at number three in the Danish album charts.
