Tony Dallara

Antonio Lardera, known professionally as Tony Dallara, was born on June 30, 1936, in Campobasso, Italy. He is an Italian singer who began his career in the music industry after being discovered by Walter Guertler, the general director of Music label. His breakthrough came with the single "Come prima" released under the name I campioni canta Tony Dallara in 1957, which sold over 300,000 copies and marked him as a pioneer of the "urlatori" (shouters) genre. His career saw significant milestones, including his victory at the Sanremo Festival in 1960 with "Romantica" alongside Renato Rascel. He returned to Sanremo in 1961 with Gino Paoli for "Un uomo vivo", and in 1964 with Ben E. King for "Come potrei dimenticarti". Throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s, he released several successful singles such as "Brivido blu" and "Ti dirò" (1958), and "Non partir", "Ghiaccio bollente", and "Per un bacio d’amor" (1959). He also appeared in various Italian films. Despite a decline in popularity by the early 1970s, he returned to music in the 1980s with hits like "Amada mia" (1980) and "Senza piangere" (1981), maintaining his presence through regular television appearances.
