Tonéx

Anthony Charles Williams II, known as Tonéx, was born on May 16, 1975, in San Diego, California. He began his musical career at a young age, adopting the stage name "Tonéx" by 13 and hiring his first manager at 16. His early album, Pronounced Toe-Nay, was released in 1997 through Rescue Records and showcased his eclectic blend of genres, earning him recognition at the 14th Annual Stellar Awards. In 2000, Tonéx signed a three-way deal with Verity, Zomba, and Tommy Boy, leading to the re-release of Pronounced Toe-Nay. His subsequent albums include O2 (2002), Out The Box (2004), and Unspoken (2009). Notable songs from these albums include "Blend," which earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Urban/Soul Alternative Performance in 2009. Tonéx has won six Stellar Awards and a GMA Award, and his work spans various genres including R&B, soul, jazz, funk, hip hop, and more.
