Tommee Profitt

James Profitt, born Thomas James Profitt on 12 November 1984 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is an American singer, songwriter and producer whose career began in the mid‑2010s after relocating to Nashville, Tennessee. Profitt first gained attention with the 2017 release of Cinematic Songs (Vol. 1), a collaboration‑focused EP that showcased his production work with emerging artists; the follow‑up volumes Cinematic Songs (Vol. 2) and Cinematic Songs (Vol. 3), both issued in March 2019, expanded the series and solidified his reputation for crafting atmospheric pop tracks. In 2018, his cover of "In the End" featuring Fleurie and Jung Youth topped the Top TV Song chart for two consecutive weeks, while "Wake Me Up", also with Fleurie, entered high in the charts. 2019 saw the release of The Birth of a King, a concept album that received critical notice for its cinematic approach. Subsequent projects included Wedding Songs (2022), Enemy (2023), The Resurrection of a King (2026), and Cinematic Songs (Vol. 4) (2019), each featuring collaborations with artists such as NF, Hunter Hayes, and Avril Lavigne. Profitt’s work has been featured in television series including Legacies and The Good Doctor, and in video game promos for titles like Ghost Recon Breakpoint. He has earned two Dove Awards and five nominations, and his partnership with NF produced the 2022 single "Let You Down", which achieved eight times RIAA Platinum status and topped the Billboard Pop Chart.
