Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 12 November 1984, Tommee Profitt is a songwriter and producer whose primary instrument is the piano, which he taught himself to play as a child. He signed a publishing deal with Capitol CMG Publishing (Capitol CMG) in 2014 and the following year teamed up with Christian rapper NF—also signed to Capitol CMG—to produce his chart-topping debut album Mansion. He moved to Nashville in 2017 and produced NF's "Let You Down" hit that same year, which went to number one on various Billboard pop singles charts. Tommee Profitt's ability to work across multiple genres, from contemporary Christian rock and country to hip-hop, has led him to join forces with an array of artists from Migos and Josh Groban to Social Club Misfits and Chris Tomlin. He has also forged a career in film and television soundtracks; his music has been featured in the likes of Prison Break, The Good Doctor, The Handmaid's Tale and more. In 2016, he won the Dove Award for Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the year for NF's Therapy Session album and in 2018, he won the Dove Award for Rap/Hip-Hop Recorded Song of the Year for his work on Social Club Misfits’ Tauren Wells-featuring 2018 hit “War Cry.” In 2020, he released his first album of original material, festive concept album The Birth of a King, which featured guests Chris Tomlin, Avril Lavigne, Tauren Wells and others. His serene Wedding Songs EP with Fleurie arrived in 2022 along with "I'll Carry You," his uplifting collaborative single with Stephen Stanley.
