Timbaland & Magoo, an American rap duo, were formed in 1989 and consisted of Timothy "Timbaland" Mosley from Virginia Beach, Virginia and Melvin "Magoo" Barcliff from Portsmouth, Virginia. The duo began their music career in the early 1990s with guest appearances on various tracks, including "UH UH AH" by S.B.I., "It's Like That Yaw", and "SkullCaps". They signed with Blackground Records, an imprint of Atlantic Records, and released their debut album Welcome to Our World in November 1997. The album achieved platinum certification from the RIAA. Following the success of their debut, Timbaland & Magoo released their second studio album Indecent Proposal in November 2001. Their third and final studio album under Blackground Records, Under Construction, Part II, was released in November 2003. In August 2021, their catalogue was re-released on various platforms through a distribution deal with Empire Distribution. Timbaland & Magoo's notable collaborations include "G. Thang" by Ginuwine and "Beep Me 911" by Missy Elliott. The duo also contributed to the soundtrack of the film Back to Back: Timbaland & Magoo & 2Pac with their album released in July 2011. Magoo passed away on August 13, 2023, at the age of 50 due to a heart attack. His funeral service took place on September 6, 2023, in Portsmouth, Virginia.
