Tim Westwood

Timothy Westwood, born on October 3, 1957, in England, is a British DJ and presenter. He started his career in the late 1970s by setting up sound systems in clubs in northwest London, initially playing reggae and jazz-funk. Westwood's breakthrough came when he began hosting radio shows on pirate station LWR, followed by Kiss FM. In 1994, he moved to BBC Radio 1 to present its new rap show, which became the top-ranked hip-hop show in the UK. Notable collaborations include live concerts with The Notorious B.I.G. and Puff Daddy. Westwood has released several compilation albums, including UK Hip Hop Volume 1 (2002) and Westwood Platinum Edition (2003), which was the biggest-selling British urban album upon its release. He won multiple awards, such as the MOBO Awards for Best Radio DJ in 2000, 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2008, and the Radio Academy John Peel Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music in 2010.
