Tigercub

Fronted by guitarist, vocalist, and lead guitarist Jamie Stephen Hall, Tigercub is a British rock trio whose 2022 single, "The Perfume of Decay," marked the band's first hit on the Mainstream Rock chart in America. The trio formed more than a decade earlier in Brighton, UK, where Hall, drummer James Allix, and bassist Jimi Wheelwright met in 2011 as college students. Their debut EP, Hands, was released independently in 2013, followed by singles like "Blue Blood" in 2014. Abstract Figures in the Dark, Tigercub's full-length debut, arrived in 2016, featuring a genre-jumping sound that encompassed everything from grunge to hard-hitting, thrashing psychedelia. After releasing the Evolve or Die EP in 2017, frontman Hall launched a side project, Nancy, and received much critical acclaim for the project's 2018 debut, Mysterious Visions. Although he continued to release music under the Nancy name, he also reconvened Tigercub for the 2021 album As Blue as Indigo, which proved to be the group's breakthrough. Reaching Number 11 on the UK Albums chart and Number 5 on the UK Rock & Metal chart, As Blue as Indigo also earned attention from American audiences, resulting in a new record contract with the Seattle-based label Loose Groove Records. "The Perfume of Decay," the band's first release for Loose Groove, followed in 2022, reaching Number 35 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart and prepping audiences for a follow-up album in 2023.
