Thomas Natschinski (born October 25, 1947, in ClauÃnitz) is a German Schlager and beat composer, singer, and keyboardist. Influenced by his father, conductor Gerd Natschinski, he began piano studies at age nine. While attending the Hochschule für Musik âHanns Eislerâ Berlin, Natschinski founded the beat ensemble Team 4, releasing the LP Die StraÃe in 1968. Following the group's 1973 dissolution, he formed Brot und Salz before dedicating himself to composition in 1976. Natschinski wrote for artists such as Gaby Rückert and Jürgen Walter, and performed as a keyboardist for Karat between 1981 and 1984. His screen credits include the Spuk-Serie and Polizeiruf 110. In 2001, Natschinski wrote the fantasy show Wunderbar â Die 2002. Nacht, which attracted over 700,000 viewers. For his artistic contributions, he received the National Prize of the GDR.
