Born into a family of musicians, pianist Thomas Enhco excels in both jazz and classical music. Born Thomas Cohen-Séat in Paris on September 29, 1988, he is the son of soprano Caroline Casadesus and the grandson of conductor Jean-Claude Casadesus, while his father, a publisher, is also an amateur pianist. From childhood, he played the violin and piano, which became his preferred instruments, while his brother David Enhco chose the trumpet. Although classically trained, he turned to jazz, and made his debut with his father-in-law, violinist Didier Lockwood, creator of a music center bearing his name. Expelled from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris for failing an exam, at eighteen he recorded his first album, Esquisse (2006), as part of a trio under his own name, and took part with his brother, mother and stepfather in the creation of the show Le jazz et la diva opus II, which toured. After a second album, Someday My Prince Will Come (2009), Thomas Enhco entered the Martial Solal Jazz Piano Competition in 2010, where he won third prize, and went on to win the Django d'or "New Talent" award the same year. He then moved to New York, where he recorded the confidential Jack & John album with Jack DeJohnette and John Pattitucci, released in Japan, and Fireflies (2012), which won him a Victoire de la Musique award in the "Jazz Revelation of the Year" category (2013). After the solo album Feathers (2015) for Verve Records, Thomas Enhco teams up with Bulgarian percussionist Vassilena Serafimova for the classical project Funambules (2016), released on the Deutsche Grammophon label. Composed for piano and orchestra, the album Thirty (2019), released by Sony Classical, precedes the duo's reunion on Bach Mirror (2021), featuring original compositions and major themes by the Baroque composer. In 2023, a concert with Stéphane Kerecki was released as an album entitled A Modern Songbook. He then worked on Mozart's repertoire, producing a selection of works that he arranged for Mozart Paradox (2025).
