Theo Lawrence & the Hearts, a French rock band originating from Gentilly in the Val-de-Marne region, was formed around Theo Lawrence, a Franco-Canadian musician influenced by blues legends such as Tommy Johnson and Howlin' Wolf. The group's initial lineup included Louis-Marin Renaud on guitar, Thibault Ripault on guitar, Thibault Rooster on drums, Olivier Viscat on bass, and Nevil Bernard on keyboards. Their debut release was the double single "Heaven to Me" in 2016, followed by the EP Sticky Icky later that year. In March 2017, Theo Lawrence & the Hearts were laureates of the BPI (Bureau des Productions Indépendantes) award at the OÜI FM Rock Awards and embarked on a tour until April 22, 2017. Their first full-length album, Homemade Lemonade, was released in March 2018. In 2019, Theo Lawrence continued the project under his own name, with Thibault Rooster and Nevil Bernard replaced by Bastien Cabezon and Julien Bouyssou.
