Themis Adamantidis has been a popular figure in Greek pop music for almost four decades. He was born in 1957 in Kaisariani, Athens and released his first album at the age of 23. Singing and recording almost exclusively in the Greek language, Adamantidis released a string of successful albums, almost one a year for the first 35 years of his professional life. Performing in the traditional Laïko style, the singer has stayed true to his traditional roots throughout his career and this has endeared Adamantidis to aficionados of Greek folk music and helped sustain his popularity over the years.
