A British band born at the height of the Britpop wave, The Supernaturals comprise James McColl (vocals, guitar), Derek McManus (guitar), Mark Guthrie (bass), Ken McAlpine (keyboards) and Alan Tilston (drums). Formed in Glasgow in 1993, the quintet's power pop style is characterized by catchy melodies and ironic, humorous lyrics. Signed to Blur's label, Food Records, the band released the hit album It Doesn't Matter Anymore (1996), which reached No. 9 in the charts with no fewer than five Top 40 singles, followed by A Tune a Day (No. 21 in 1998) and What We Did Last Summer (2002). Having broken up in 2002, The Supernaturals returned ten years later with the album 360 (2015), followed by Bird of Luck (2019), It Only Gets Worse (2023) and Show Tunes (2025).
