The Rockin' Rebels, also known as The Rebels, were a surf rock band from Buffalo, New York.Their breakthrough came with an instrumental version of "Wild Weekend", originally written for radio entertainer Tom Shannon's WKBW weekend radio show. The track was initially released locally and gained significant traction when re-issued by Swan Records in 1960, selling over one million copies and peaking at number 8 on the Billboard charts. This success led to an appearance on Dick Clark's American Bandstand TV show. The Rockin' Rebels were inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame in 2002.
