the peggies

the peggies were formed in 2011 in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Japan, by vocalist and guitarist Yuuho Kitazawa (born December 2 1995) alongside bassist Makiko Ishiwata (born August 27 1995) and drummer Miku Onuki (born April 23 1995). The trio debuted with the single "Sputnik" in 2016, followed by the album スプートニク / Love Trip on October 19, 2016, which established their alternative‑rock sound. In 2017 they released the EP BABY! Their 2019 "センチメートル" was a commercial success that entered the Oricon singles chart. In 2021 the band issued the compilation MMY. The group signed with Poppo Express and later Epic Records Japan, expanding their distribution. After a national tour titled the peggies tour 2022 My White, the band announced an indefinite hiatus in July 2022, with the final tour concluding in September of the same year. In July 2024, Yuuho Kitazawa announced a solo project under the name Q.I.S., marking a new chapter for the former frontwoman.
